Bags, compendiums, caps, shopping totes, rainwear, umbrellas, apparel and loads more… All the products you wished your DTG could print – well now you can.
How does a DTF Printer work?
The printer has a dual print head design that lays down the colors in a blend of CMYK colors with the first printhead, and then lays down a white underbase on top of the colors in perfect alignment direct to a translucent transfer sheet.
Adhesive powder is then applied either manually or with the optional DTF powder applicator that’s sits next to the printer. It’s the unique powder adhesive coating that gives DTF prints their signature soft touch, wash fastness and amazing stretch. Then place the sheet in a heat press or optional DTF Cure Oven for 2 minutes and you have brilliant transfers ready for a final quick 10 second press… All done!
Note: that while one sheet is curing the next is printing bringing greater output.
Instead of thick 2 step transfer films, or vinyl, the Direct-to-Film Process has only two ingredients. The ink and a thin coating of powdered adhesive.
The DTF printer uses a high release PET transfer film which is translucent so you can see the design underneath the film when you later heat-press it onto the garment taking the guesswork out of placement. The films used with the DTF QO-T are available in 16” x 20” (40 x 50cm) and are designed for cold peel.
Colour Vibrancy
Compare a Direct-to-Film print side by side to a normal digital transfer to see the difference this new technology can make in terms of colour accuracy and vibrancy. Smooth gradients, pixel sharp photographic images, closer matched Pantone colours as standard.
These are the key benefits of the Direct-to-Film process. Add to this the industries BEST wash fastness, stretch and UV resistance because you are using water based textile pigmented inks – inks and transfer media actually designed for rigorous use.
